Back To School: Make Up Bag Essentials

6 Sep

So sorry I have been gone for so long! The last month has been CRAZY! I wanted to just spend time with my family and friend before school started. Speaking of school, I started school last week and I have been bombed with homework and family parties. So I apologize again. On with with blog post!

Now I am fully aware that just about EVERYONE has started school already but I still really wanted to do a “Back To School” blog. There may be more, but do not count too much on them. This can be good for both middle school and high school.

Make Up Bag Essentials:

Face:

Powder- Everyone gets a little shiny throughout the day, especially after gym. So I would recommend carrying a powder. I have a CoverGirl pressed powder and I love it! You can match it to your skin type, too! Needed: Brush

Blush- Again, after gym you can touch up on your makeup. This is optional, not totally necessary. Obviously, if you do not wear blush, do not carry it! Or if you just do not want to carry it, do not do it! Totally optional. Needed: Brush

Eyes:

Mascara- If your mascara flakes or wears off, here is a touch up!

Lips:

Clear Lip Gloss- Little shine to your lips 🙂

Lip Balm- I love the EOS balms but they are kind of awkward especially with a small makeup bag. Take a tube of chap stick if a bigger lip balm does fit 🙂

Other:

Perfume- I suggest a roll on. They are typically smaller and easier for a small make up bag. Touch some on after gym, in the bathroom, at your locker. But DO NOT over load it!

Hand Sanitizer- I suggest Bath and Body Works little PocketBac’s. Small and convenient. They also come in a HUGE selection of scents.

Small Lotion- Especially for those winter chapped hands!

Mirror- A compact mirror with a brush is a two-in-one! Always fun! Useful for on-the-go makeup or putting on make up with no mirror!

FTC:

I purchased all these products with my own money and I am not getting payed to write about them.

July Favorites

2 Aug

Its finally August! Which is my birthday month 😉 My birthday is in 2 days! August 4th….. 😀

So basically I haven’t really been wearing much makeup in July, but the stuff I have been wearing is just about my everyday type of makeup.

Makeup:

1. Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Hydrofuge in Black- Amazing waterproof mascara. I wore it to a water park and it stayed on all day. from about 9:00 am to around 5:00pm.

2. Colossal Volume Express in Glam Brown- For those days that I didn’t go swimming or just didn’t want to wear waterproof mascara. I love it because it gives your lashes a natural look, but you can build it up to be more dramatic.

3. Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin- All over the lid natural look. Lasts all day.

4. Maybelline Quad in Chai Latte- I just like it for a little more ‘fancy’ or put together look. Shimmery.

5. Wet N Wild Trio in Walking on Eggshells- You hear so much of this on YouTube. It really is amazing. Very natural with a little shimmer.

6. Bare Essentials Lipstick in Cream Puff- Natural lip. Loving these in the summer and fall.

7. Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Cupquake- Smells and tastes like cupcakes. Sooo Yummy!

Body:

8. Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizers- Love the variety of smells. Have them everywhere!

Ect.:

9. Orbit White gum- It sits right next to my laptop. Yummy.

10. Song- ‘She Takes Me High’ -We The Kings

Makeup:

1. Cover Girl Last Blast Volume Waterproof Hydrofuge in ‘Black’. I did a review on this if you would like any specifics.

2. Essence ‘Stay With Me’ Longlasting Lipgloss in ‘Me&My Ice Cream’. I did a review on this product as well. If you would like to read more, check out my blog post on it.

3. MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in ‘Fuchsia Fix’. It smells and tastes like cookies. This retails for $14.50 at a MAC store or counter. it is very smooth and not sticky. Pretty deep pink sheen. PLUS, it has SPF 15 in it. Perfect for summer.

4. MAC Eyeshadow in ‘Shimmermoss’. I used this as an eyeliner. I would use it wet because dry, it is not too pigmented as a liner. As an eyeshadow it is pigmented though. $14.50 at a MAC counter or store.

5. MAC Paint Pot in “Rubenesque”. I did a review on this. Check out my blog post!

Body:

6. Bath and Body Works  Fragrance Mist in ‘Country Chic’. Very fresh and clean but still has that girly scent to it. Travel size is $5 at your local BBW store. Also available in a larger fragrance mist size along with lotions, shower gels, ect.

Ect.:

7. BBW Scent Oils for Scent Bug in “Island Nectar”, ” Calypso Sun”, and “Pineapple Mango”. Very summery scents. Each scent costs $7.50 and the refill pads cost $3.50

8. Extra Dessert Delights Gum in ‘Mint Chocolate Chip”. Yum.

MAC- ‘Rubenesque’ Paint Pot

28 Jun

Ahhh. The famous Rubenesque paint pot by MAC. An essential for everyone? Maybe. Let’s keep on reading to find out.

These paint pots by MAC retail for $16.50. You can buy them online at http://www.maccosmetics.com/ or at a store or counter in your local shopping area. You can also buy MAC at some CCO’s (cosmetic company outlets) but you would have to check local listing for your area. Paint pots come with 5 grams or .17 US ounces of product. IT IS A LOT! You get what you pay for with paint pots. My mom has ‘painterly’ and she has had it for over a year and hasn’t even hit pan yet. I bought mine back in, I believe, January. I have just barely made a dent in it. Painterly can be put all over your eye and you use more when you use that one. You have to be careful where you out Rubenesque. I use an eye shadow brush by e.l.f to put it on. I don’t use a primer under it because it doesn’t crease all day. I used to wear it to school and it would last all day.

This is a very pigmented paint pot and a little goes a long way. It is also extremely creamy. I would suggest storing your paint pot upside down so the moisture can go to the top of the product, keeping it creamy.

Pros: Creamy, long lasting, you get what you pay for, crease-less (unless you have very oily eye lids)

Cons: Kind of expensive and not easy access for everyone.

Essence: ‘Stay With Me’ Long Lasting Lipgloss- Me&My Ice Cream

28 Jun

I first heard about this lip gloss from xxmakeupiscoolxx on YouTube. SHE IS AMAZING! Everyone check her out! Link at the bottom of the blog. She said Essence had a new lip gloss and she said that she loved it. So of course, being the good subscriber that I am, I had to go pick it up! It was about $2.50 at Ulta. I know they only sell it at Ulta in the US. If you are in Europe then it should be at any regular drugstore.

Lets start with the applicator. It is defiantly a different kind of applicator (shown at bottom of blog). It is so easy to apply the product to your lip with it. The consistency of the product is very nice. It lasts for about 30 minutes without eating or drinking. I would think it would last shorter if you did. But that is okay because it is very small and portable to apply anywhere. It comes with .13 Fluid Ounces or 4 ml. I love this and it comes in a lot more colors. I know Katharine (xxmakeupiscoolxx) had a coral color because she is obsessed with coral. All in all, I suggest you try this. It is long lasting, not sticky, and very portable.

Katharine’s Channel: http://www.youtube.com/xxmakeupiscoolxx

Pros: Inexpensive, long lasting, non sticky, good color choices

Cons: Small

Applicator: (Not “Me&My Ice Cream” color)

E.L.F Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

26 Jun

This tinted moisturizer retails for $3 at http://www.eyeslipsface.com. You can check where it is sold around you on that website also. On with the review!

I picked this up after seeing a review on it on YouTube. I was looking for a new tinted moisturizer for the summer. I bought mine at Target in the makeup section. I said “$3! What have I got to lose? Other than three dollars, of course.” So I bought mine in the shade Nude. I am very fair and this looked about my shade. I opened it in the car and the first thing I thought was “This is too orange for me.” So I rubbed it on my hand and it blended in with my skin well. I wear this a lot over the summer. The only bad thing, which is kind of a big deal, is that is does not cover much at all. I do use a concealer under it but I can still see a few beauty marks. I top it off with my CoverGirl pressed powder. I don’t think this is the WORST tinted moisturizer out there. I would definitely repurchase it because it does moisturize my face and I don’t like to wear foundation in the summer. PLUS, it has SPF 20 so it is great for the summer and being in the sun. I would suggest a higher SPF for your face though. In comparison to the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, the only thing that I cna compare to you is the size. The ELF tinted moisturizer comes with .88 fluid ounces or 25 ml. Laura Mercier comes with 1.5 oz. It is much bigger in size.  I would suggest this for the summer if you want something sheer, SPF, and inexpensive.

Pros: Moisturizer, inexpensive, light, SPF 20

Cons: Not much coverage at all

Waterproof Mascera: Covergirl Lash Blast Volume

22 Jun

This is an amazing waterproof mascera! I went to the drugstore looking for a new mascera and I had this one in mind the whole time.  My friend had told me that it was not waterproof at all, but then I watched meganheartsmakeup on YouTube and she said it was her favorite waterproof mascera. At that time I knew I had to buy it. When Maybelline Falsies first came out, everyone said bad things about it. Now it is one of my favorite masceras! Back on topic. I bought the Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Hydrofuge at CVS for around $8.50. I have seen it as low as $7 and as high as $11 so I would definetly do your research before purchasing it. This product comes with .44 fluid ounces or 13.1 ml. Mine is in black but it also comes in Very Black or Brown. Now for the quality and lasting time. I put mine on at around noon yesterday. I did not take it off last night (forgot) and it was still on in the morning. I bet if you wore it longer though, it would have worn off a little through out the day. I put two coats of it on. It does not clump (unless you layer like 50 layers on) and the formula is very nice. It does take a little to dry though. When I have tried to take it off with my makeup removing wipes, it does take a little rubbing. All in all, pretty good mascera for the summer.

Pros: Long lasting, very waterproof, affordable, nice formula, good amount of product.

Cons: Hard to take off
